Roadmap: 2030

Interested in diversity, civic engagement and public policy?

On October 25 & 26, 2011, Roadmap: 2030 returns to the Appel Salon of the Toronto Reference Library.

Roadmap: 2030 is a two-day event on engaging visible minority, Aboriginal and disability communities around public policy. It brings together community organizations, government, media and politicians to both discuss the opportunities and challenges that Canada's diversity offers. Participants will connect and share best practices in community engagement, public participation and building capacity for individuals and organizations to be part of the policy development process, resulting in policy and programs that address the needs and priorities of Canada's growing diverse communities.

Presenters include Tony Burman, former head of Al Jazeera English and CBC News; Ellen Waxman, Asst. Deputy Minister, Accessibility Directorate of Ontario; Member of Parliament Rathika Sitsabaiesan; Barbara Hall, Chief Commissioner, Ontario Human Rights Commission; Gervan Fearon, Dean of the Chang School, Ryerson University; Karen Campbell, Sr. Policy Advisor, Assembly of First Nations; Taylor Gunn, Founder, Student Vote and many more.
